The search and recovery efforts to find the unnamed 16 year old male in Lake Erie have ceased. Officials at the Conneaut, OH Fire Department confirm that the body of the teen from Hiram, Ohio was pulled from the water around 4:30pm. It comes after nearly a dozen fire departments, along with the U.S. Coast Guard, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the Ashtabula County Water Rescue were called to Conneaut Township Park Sunday night just after 7:00. The boy was with his family on the beach when he decided to go into the water and never resurfaced. Conneaut Fire Chief Steve Lee says, "The conditions were probably five to eight foot waves and he was out swimming.They saw him go down and didn't see him come back up and that's when they called 911." Nearly 50 responders aided in the search from Sunday night until Tuesday afternoon. After the teen was pulled from the water, his body was then taken to the Ashtabula County Coroner's Office.
