There's a chance for local anglers to cash-in on their fishing hobby. The 1st annual King of the Isle Walleye Fishing Derby kicks off today.

King of the Isle Walleye Fishing Derby is a month-long fishing competition hosted by Presque Isle Fish and Farm. The winners are based on the overall top 10 Heaviest Walleye entered during the month of July.

To enter, there's a one-time fee of 20 dollars, but organizers say participants can enter multiple fish throughout the month. 10% of the entry fee goes towards the Lake Erie Telemetry Program.

Contestants have to be registered by 6am on the day they plan to fish. All walleyes must be weighed in at either Presque Isle Fish and Farm on West 8th street, East End Angler on East Lake Road or at Poor Richard's Bait and Tackle in Fairview.
