Former President Bill Clinton Rallies Support in Erie
The countdown to the election is on as candidates are making their final push to gain voter's support.
Former President Bill Clinton made a stop in Erie at Lavery Brewing on Saturday where he discussed small businesses, agriculture and the economy and rallying support for Vice President Kamala Harris.
His appearance brought out some of the youngest Harris supporters, like Moira Favere, who came with her mom, grandma, and grandpa. "It would be fun to see a President."
It also brought out invigorated voters.
Jerry and Cindy Beemer said, "I'm excited about the election. I want to see us protect our democracy and I'm doing what I can as an American and I'm proud that there's a lot of people interested in the election "
In addition to the former president, Senator John Fetterman spoke about what Harris can bring to Erie County. While some said they plan on voting for Harris on Tuesday, others said while they can't vote for her, they still want to support her, like Jane Armour and her daughter. They are visiting from Scotland and although they can't vote they are interested in American politics and would like to see Harris has the next president.
"I love Kamala Harris first to support democracy, obviously as a woman with daughters, very important. From the UK point of view, the support for NATO and Ukraine is really important", said Armour.
Harris supporters said there is a lot of energy in the democratic party and they hope it continues through election day. William Dear with the County Line Democrats said, "To see the atmosphere of the Democrat Party coming together to show what we need to do because we are in a fight right now."
Former President Clinton went on to meet with supporters and local business owners in Erie including making a stop at the Ringside restaurant.
Senate Candidate Dave McCormick will be campaigning in Erie on Sunday.
