A woman has died following a two-vehicle crash in Harborcreek Township on Friday, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

It was reported on Depot Rd. just south of Harbor Ridge Trail around 6:40 p.m.

A Hyundai car was heading north and lost traction on the snow-covered road near the crest of a hill and collided head-on with a southbound Ford truck, which attempted to break to avoid hitting the car, investigators said.

The driver of the car - a 66-year-old Harborcreek woman - and her passenger - a 87-year-old Harborcreek woman - were taken to UPMC Hamot by ambulance for treatment of injuries, according to troopers.

The 87-year-old woman - identified as Donna Irwin - died at the hospital. State police said she was not wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the truck - a 59-year-old North East man - was checked out at the scene but did not go to the hospital, troopers said. He also was not wearing a seatbelt, according to investigators.

Both lanes of Depot Rd. were closed for more than an hour Friday.
