Tyler Mook, the only person ever names as a person of interest in the disappearance of his estranged wife, Edinboro native Shelley Jones Mook, is now charged with attempted first degree murder for allegedly trying to drown his most recent girlfriend in Florida.

We first told you about the case last month, when it was reported as a crime of domestic battery, but now authorities have filed more serious charges of attempted murder.

The police affidavit indicates that while boating in Palm City, Florida, Tyler Mook became angered after his girlfriend told him to slow the boat down in a no wake area.  Police say he then threw 28-year-old Robin Donech overboard, jumped in and tried to hold her underwater.

Tyler's brother Andrew Mook and his girlfriend were also on board, witnessed the incident, and came to the woman's aid.  They gave statements to police about what happened.

Mook has never been charged in the disappearance of his former wife, Edinboro native Shelley Mook.  She was a teacher in Shelbyville, TN when she disappeared.  Her burned out car was found abandoned, but her body was never found.

Shelley's mother, Deborah Sikora commented on the attempted murder charges.  She said, "I want the hurt to stop for those that have been and still are affected by the acts of one person."   She also said justice will come..."by those who will stand and have their voices heard. By those voices healing can begin, closure can be sought and faith in others can be restored."
