The Erie County Coroner has identified the woman who died following a crash on Interstate 90 in Harborcreek Township Monday morning.

Faith Markley, 33, of St. Mary's, Pa., died at UPMC Hamot a short time after the accident.

The accident, which injured two young children in the same vehicle and two other drivers, caused firefighters and first responders to shut down the westbound lanes just east of the exit 35 off-ramp for Harborcreek around 6:45 a.m.

Markley, who was the driver of a Toyota Corolla car, was traveling westbound in the left lane when the vehicle hit the rear bumper and quarter-panel of a Ford Explorer SUV in front it in the right lane curb, State Police said.

It caused the Toyota car to turn sideways. The vehicle was then hit by a Buick LaCrosse car that was unable to stop, according to investigators. The force of the crash pushed the Toyota into the Ford SUV.

Markley was not wearing a seat belt and pronounced dead at the hospital, State Police said.

Two children who were also in the Toyota - a two-year-old girl and a male infant who is not even a year old yet - were flown to Pittsburgh for treatment of their injuries. Both were riding in child safety seats.

The drivers of the Ford SUV - a 48-year-old woman from North East - and Buick car - 69-year-old man from North East - were taken to UPMC Hamot for treatment of suspected minor injuries, according to State Police.

The crash caused traffic to be diverted for a few hours until the westbound lanes of I-90 reopened around 11 a.m. Monday.
