Two dorms at Edinboro University contain bedbugs, less than a month after bedbugs were found at a Walmart in Edinboro.

The bugs were found in two residence halls, Highlands 2 and Highland 6, according to Jim Dahle, the school's director of safety and risk management.

Dahle says the students have been moved to other rooms, and the university is following its bedbug protocol.

All fabric in the infested rooms will be dried at high heat to kill the bugs, then washed and dried as usual.

A pest control company will administer three treatments to the infested areas and inspect them after each treatment.

Once the rooms are deemed bug-free, the students can move back in or stay in other rooms.

Dahle says the university frequently handles two or three cases of bedbugs each year, typically after students return from break, sometimes bringing bugs back with them.

In fact, the school's last case of bedbugs was reported at this time last year.
