Center for Focused Care: Giving You the Business
The Center for Focused Care specializes in working with victims of depression, using some cutting edge treatments.
A key treatment at the center is trans cranial magnetic stimulation or TMS.
It is a non-invasive treatment using magnetic waves to stimulate brain cells to help patients fight their depression.
CEO Dr. Matthew Sipple said, "It activates cells. It uses you own chemistry to get things rolling."
Sipple says the vast majority of his patients are helped after undergoing the TMS treatments.
Dr. Sipple said, "It is about a 70% remission rate where depression is gone, and about a 12% response rate which means it drops by about 75%."
Most of the patients getting the therapy have already tried many different medications. They often have had problems with serious side effects.
Dr. Sipple said the therapy minimizes that problem.
Another newly approved treatment is the use of esketamine, an anti depressant nasal spay designed to act rapidly."
The center does provide traditional therapy, working with co-owned Bay City Psychiatry.
But the center prides itself on cutting edge treatments.
Dr. Sipple said, "In our field, psychiatry, we are thinking outside the box now."
