First Lady Melania Trump No Longer Traveling to Erie for Campaign Rally Due to 'Lingering Cough'
First Lady Melania Trump will no longer accompany President Donald Trump for Tuesday's Make America Great Again rally in Erie.
Her spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said the decision was made due to a "lingering cough" from her bout with coronavirus.
"Mrs. Trump continues to feel better every day following her recovery from COVID-19, but with a lingering cough, and out of an abundance of caution, she will not be traveling today,"Grisham told NBC News in a statement.
This was set to be the First Lady's first in-person campaign event appearance in more than a year. She last joined the President last June at a re-election kickoff rally in Florida.
Melania Trump made an appearance at the first presidential debate and during the Republican National Convention.
Trump is scheduled to speak at 7 p.m. at Erie International Airport.
