Erie News Now Senior Reporter Paul Wagner is retiring after 41 years with WICU-TV.

His last day will be Dec. 17.

Paul has had many roles at the station over the years, including anchor and producer, but most of his career has focused on reporting. He has covered thousands of stories around the region since he began in 1979.

"It has been an honor and privilege that so many people have allowed to me tell their stories over the years," he said.

Some of Paul's most memorable stories including traveling to China with Erie Mayor Lou Tullio, covering both of the inauguration ceremonies for Governor Tom Ridge, and reporting on the pizza bombing case.

Paul has been busy this year covering the coronavirus pandemic and the presidential campaign including the Erie campaign stops of President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.

This year, Paul was also nominated for an Emmy Award for Shattered Faith, a special report on clergy sexual abuse. He has won numerous awards for his work over the years.

Paul plans to spend more time with his wife Laurie during retirement.
