This time of year is a favorite time for people with a sweet tooth, it's Girl Scout cookie season.

Local Girl Scout Troops kicked off their booth sales season today in Edinboro at their headquarters.

This is the first year they did a drive thru booth at their headquarter location.

While they will still be selling them in booths and online around the area, this drive thru shop is another way to reach community members during the pandemic. All the money they raise stays in the community.

They had some extra help today selling, thanks to State Representative Ryan Bizzarro.

He explained the importance of helping the youth in the community. He said "Look whether you are supporting the boy scouts or girl scouts it's important to support young people being involved in the community. Everybody loves a Girl Scout cookie. I'm going to tag a long with them for a little bit today and I'm going to buy some tag a long cookies while I'm at it and I'm really excited to be here."

The Girl Scouts are selling all eight flavors of cookies and the last day to buy them is March 21.
