One Man Dead, Another Critically Injured in East Erie Tavern Shooting; Police Looking for Suspect
Police are actively investigating a shooting at an east Erie tavern that left one man dead and another in critical condition. An arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect.
Danny L. Nicholson II is wanted in connection to the shooting. He is described as a 39-year-old male who is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs about 250 pounds.
Nicholson faces multiple charges including three counts each of attempted homicide, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. He is also charged with possession of a weapon, discharging a firearm in an occupied structure and firearms not to be carried without a license.
It all started around 6:50 p.m. Wednesday at Bogey's Tavern in the 2100 block of Buffalo Road.
Erie News Now cameras were first on the scene after reports of four men and one woman were shot.
The victims range in age from 30 to 57, according to Erie Police Chief Dan Spizarny.
A 38-year-old male died from his injuries and a 41-year-old male is in critical condition. The other three people shot are expected to survive.
Police said they are still actively investigating the case and are looking for the suspect, along with others.
