North East Couple Charged with Murder in Death of 4-Week-Old Baby Girl

A North East couple has been charged with murder in connection to the 2020 death of their 4-week-old baby girl.

Police filed charges against Logan Miller and Lindsay Orton-McIntyre, 26, Monday. Each faces a felony count of third-degree murder, endangering the welfare of children and aggravated assault.

The investigation started when an ambulance was called to an apartment on Clay St. July 22 for the child.

The infant died six days later after suffering blunt force trauma to the head, along with swelling of the spine and a broken wrist, according to doctors. A medical expert said it was likely the result of abusive head trauma, according to the criminal complaint.

Both are accused of waiting about five days to get medical care for the child, according to the criminal complaint. The pair told police they did not know how the baby was injured and said they noticed she was not acting herself, had a decreased appetite, looked tired, was not fussing, and laid with her eyes open and didn't sleep.

The pair admitted they were the only two who took care of the child since her birth but denied they knew anything about any trauma that would have caused the infant's injuries, the criminal complaint said.
