Expanded Passenger Rail Could Boost Pennsylvania Economy
Local lawmakers say expanding passenger rail could boost the state's economy.
State Rep. Ryan Bizzarro (D-Erie) took part in a town hall Tuesday on rail traffic.
Tuesday's panel discussion comes after Amtrak announced plans to expand rail service across the Keystone State.
The expansion would include an added stop on a proposed New York to Cleveland route at Erie's Union Station, according to Amtrak officials.
Bizzarro said that improving passenger rail could create jobs, streamline commutes and have a positive environmental impact for the state.
