The camping season is already underway, especially at Family Affair Campground in North East.

The home away from home has 300 campsites. 240 of them are permanent for people who come to camp for the season.

The camping season starts May 1 and runs Oct. 1.

Steve Lang and his wife Janet bought the campground 22 years ago. They have made improvements along the way for camp lovers.

There's a pool, playground and entertainment every weekend. They also celebrate holidays during camp season.

"When we bought it, it was much smaller - a lot less campers here, totally different atmosphere than what it is today," said Lang. "Now, we have a group of people that are just like family. Everybody here gets along and just enjoys coming out and spending their weekends and summers here."

Some campers have spent more than three decades with what they call their extended family.

It costs $1,400 for the season, but weekend camp sites are available, too.
