Woman Injured, Dog Killed During Attack by Several Pit Bulls
A Cambridge Springs woman is calling for change after she was attacked while trying to save her dog from pit bulls.
Teresa Jouver has lots of bite marks on her arms and legs. She needed 15 stitches, too, after three pit bulls attacked her and her Chihuahua mix named Moe.
She said it happened last week while they were out on their daily walk in Cambridge Springs.
She said Moe spotted the pit bulls and naturally started to bark, but that caused the pit bulls to charge towards them.
She was able to scare off one of the dogs, but three wouldn't leave. That's when Moe jumped from her arms and ran. The pit bulls chased him, violently attacked him then left him on the side of the road dead.
Jouver said other people in the neighborhood have been attacked by the same Pit bulls. However, she says authorities haven't done anything to order the dogs to be put down, or take them away.
The dogs are now detained at the Humane Society in Meadville, but apparently the owner will get them back on Saturday.
Jouver is devastated to see her therapy dog is now gone and has yet to receive help or information from authorities.
Jouver said she plans to sue the dogs’ owner.
Erie News Now reached out to the Humane Society and animal enforcement in Meadville. They did not return our calls.
