Roundabout Work to Close Part of Hamot Rd. in Summit Township
Part of Hamot Rd. will be closed starting next week for work on a five-leg roundabout in Summit Township, Erie County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced Monday.
Hamot Rd. will be closed at the intersections with Oliver Rd. and Flower Rd., so new roadway approaches can be built.
A detour will be posted using Route 19 (Peach St.) and Hershey Rod. It is expected to be in place for nine days, weather -permitting.
Construction of the roundabout is being done in seven phases. More short-term detours and traffic pattern shifts will be needed throughout the project.
