A gas tax holiday has been proposed in Pennsylvania.

Democratic State Senator Lisa Boscola has introduced a plan that would lift the state gas tax for two months, ideally through Labor Day.

Five states including New York have already enacted similar measures.

Pennsylvania drivers already pay some of the highest gas taxes in the country.

Meanwhile, Erie County Democrat Ryan Bizzarro has introduced a bill to stop gas price gouging. The bill would prevent gas price increases within 24 hours of a previous increase.

The legislation also allows the governor to declare a market emergency that would last 30 days.

It would also make it illegal to sell fuel for "an amount that represents an unconscionably excessive price."
