For incoming college freshman, college can be an exciting gateway into the rest of their lives, but before starting classes, you have to move in first.

PennWest Edinboro, formerly Edinboro University, starting moving in their freshman students yesterday, with upperclassmen moving in this weekend.

Some students had advice for incoming freshmen.

"Always bring [all] weather clothing, because you never know what the weather's gonna be like when you move in in August, said Becca Haight, a student employee at the Pogue Student Center. "Because you could have snow by the end of September. So I keep telling everybody, always bring weather appropriate clothing from what you could wear May through December."

Haight also recommended keeping a snow shovel and ice scraper in your car.

Students also had reactions to the recent name change for PennWest Edinboro.

"It's like weird being like a branch now, but it's still Edinboro," said incoming freshman, Cam. "People still call it Edinboro. It's just kind of a mouthful now."

"Just be optimistic with everything going on with the change right now," continued Haight. "I know a lot of students are trying to navigate this merge and everything, but we're still the Fighting Scots, we are still Edinboro, we just have a little bit of a newer name."

Classes for PennWest Edinboro begin this Monday.
