We are showcasing a handful of notable Erie entertainment venues. They are all under what's known as Erie Events.
This organization is a real gem. What's more, is the man heading is in his first full week as the new director.
From stage shows, minor league baseball action, a packed convention center, and an arena bringing in big names.
"Erie Events is just the name we use to encompass all those venues," said Gus Pine.
Gus Pine is the new Executive Director of Erie Events. Pine took over after the retirement of Casey Wells,
who held the position for decades.
A position that oversees the Bayfront Convention Center, bringing in yearly shows and versatile events, the attached Bayfront Sheraton Hotel, and the nearby Courtyard Bayfront.
Erie Events also manages the Erie Insurance Arena, home to the Erie Otters. Right next door to UPMC Park, the home of the Erie SeaWolves.
Gus Pine gets a good view of both facilities from the new sky walk, which is part of the newly renovated Warner Theatre.
The Erie Philharmonic perform at the Warner Theatre often.
"This uptown entertainment campus has really been revitalized in the last 10-15 years between the three venues," said Ed Snyder.
Ed Snyder is the Director of the Warner Theatre. Like many other venues, the grandiose and historic structure can also be rented out.
Private or public events can be held at the Warner.
The newest venture for Erie Events will be off the Bayfront Parkway. It'll be in a stand alone building known as the Bayfront Marketplace.
"We're looking to showcase all things Erie," said Gus. "We're hopeful that we go to ground in the fall of this year."
Another big endeavor that Pine says brings in $90 million a year to Erie.
"Looking at what tomorrows fan is looking for, I think that's changing everyday," said Gus.
