Union City Student Awarded with C.L.A.S.S. Act Emerging Leader Scholarship
This month, the Northwest Pennsylvania C.L.A.S.S. Act Award was given to Union City High School junior, Kaleigh Brenner.
Amanda Post surprised with her the award live in her 5th period class.
Kaleigh's parents and sister were there, along with her classmates, and school administration. Including guidance counselor, Anne Conti who nominated Kaleigh.
Superintendent Matt Bennett was also in attendance.
"I'm very happy for Kaleigh and her family, and all the student body. She exemplifies what students around Union City are all about," said Bennett. Great kid, great work ethic, great attitude, so we're very proud and humbled to receive this award."
"I'm going to put it towards college, room & board, food all that stuff. I'm just excited to go to a nice college," said Kaleigh. "This school is amazing, they put a lot of work into the building, the staff, just a lot of time and thought went into the school."
All the winners of the class act award get a $1,000 scholarship, and a chance to win $5,000 at the end of the year.
The C.L.A.S.S. Act Award is given through the Northwest Tri-county Intermediate.
The C.L.A.S.S. Act Emerging Leaders Award is sponsored by Tendto Credit Union, Velocity Net, Orthopedic Associates of Meadville, and Lilly Broadcasting.
