Beach 6 at Presque Isle State Park has restricted swimming due to elevated E. coli bacteria counts. 

According to the Erie County Department of Health, if E. coli counts are equal to or exceed 1000 CFU per 100 mL of water that beach is posted as Restricted Swimming. 

Water tests are preformed twice a week. 

During, restricted swimming, park visitors are not allowed to enter the water at the affected beach. Beach areas under restricted swimming are still open to the public for other recreational activities. 

Additionally, Presque Isle has other beaches open for swimming.
