Infinite Erie Playbook Initiatives Gain Momentum
Infinite Erie announced new momentum for three development projects in Erie's Investment Playbook.
$15,000 was pledged for a feasibility study aimed at putting the former Burton School Building, on Buffalo Road, back to use.
Plans are to develop it as a hub for childcare and workforce development.
The Grow Erie Project, a coming research, technology, and agriculture facility at the Savocchio Opportunity Park, has received $500,000 from the Community Impact Fund.
And a $400,000 grant to form the Cornerstone Community Land Trust will help revive affordable housing.
Infinite Erie says it's all proof that collaboration is leading to action.
"So, having the investment playbook—that set of 35 tangible, transformational projects—and having a pipeline of investment-ready projects shows the state, it shows the federal level that Erie has projects that are ready to be invested in. They are not projects that are still ideas," said Kim Thomas, Executive Director of Infinite Erie. "We know that money only goes to projects that have blueprints—it doesn't go to ideas."
Infinite Erie was formed and funded by Erie Insurance, the Erie Community Foundation, and ECGRA to deliver transformative change and to attract and secure more public and private sector funding.
