Erie Humane Society's Annual Rock and Rescue Charity Concert

The Erie Humane Society held their annual Rock and Rescue Concert to raise funds for the organization as well as their Shelter to Service program.

Executive Director of the Erie Humane Society, Nicole Leone, said, "we have over 2,000 guests here this evening and they love the food, the music, the vibe and what it supports, which is the stray unwanted pets that we shelter everyday."

Erie Humane Society volunteer, Michelle Egnot, said, "I am a huge animal lover, cats, dogs, gerbils, bunny rabbits, guinea pigs, so it is wonderful to take care of the animals, walk them, love them, give them attention and all the things that they would not get without volunteers and people to come and take care of them."

Erie Human Society Board Member, Gery Nietupski, said, "we do not have any government funding so events like this are the life blood of our organization and we rely on every single penny they give us so we can survive and feed our 400 animals every single night."

"This benefits all of the animals that live at the Erie Humane Society in addition to the service dogs that we also train and award to Erie community veterans here," Leone said.

Erie News Now is a proud sponsor of the event.
