Gilbert Watson, father of Dawann Simmons, revisits Sunday's fatal accident.

"From the Watson family to the Giles family, I know my son has done something very tragic here," Watson said.

Watson said he would say to the Giles family, "first of all, I would give them a hug and probably cry along with them and also say I will be there for you whenever you need me."

When asked if his son should have been driving the car, Watson said, "no he should not have been no he shouldn't and like anyone there is no title to wrong, what is wrong is wrong and we have to pay the consequences of that."

"I would say what God wants me to say from my heart that I am sorry for this tragic thing," Watson said.

"A life has been lost and we cannot bring that back, there is a lot of pain, it is going to take time and healing and we are praying, I am calling some of the pastors I know and we will be praying for the family," Watson said.

When asked how his son is feeling, Watson said, "he is in deep remorse, behind those bars, I know it."
