Archery deer season will be opening statewide this weekend. The 2023-24  archery season runs from September 30 through November 11, continues on Nov. 12, then goes from Nov. 13-17. 

Archery season will come back December 26 to January 15, 2024. 

Any archers pursing whitetail deer in Wildlife Management Units (WMUs) around Pittsburgh and Philadelphia can start hunting two weeks sooner. 

The Pennsylvania Game Commission said archers may use long, recurve or compound bows, or crossbows. Bows must have a draw weight of at least 35 pounds; crossbows must have a minimum draw weight of 125 lbs.
