Second Annual Paul Yoculan Sr. Memorial Scholarship Dance at Rainbow Gardens
A huge turnout for the second annual Paul Yoculan Sr. Scholarship Dance at Rainbow Gardens.
Knowing the event benefits Mercyhurst Prep students, Paul Yoculan Jr. believes his father was looking and smiling.
"Only for the reason that we are doing this for the right reasons and that is to help a deserving student at Mercyhurst Prep," Yoculan Jr. said.
Some of those scholarship recipients even on hand to lend a hand.
"Just helping out makes sense and it is just a good thing to do," said Noah Trojanowski, a Paul Yoculan Sr. Scholarship recipient.
Friends of Yoculan Sr. not just showing up but also performing for the crowd.
"I got in yesterday and was at the rehearsal and a lot of laughing, a lot of memory lane, it has just been fantastic and then of course this tonight," said Steven Stone, a band member of McMillin & Life.
Those who knew and loved him the most explained how no matter what he was doing, he always had time for others.
"He was top of the heap as far as music goes, New York City, Las Vegas, Puerto Rico but he loved to help people especially young people and this is his legacy," Yoculan Jr. said.
"I have been married to him for 64 years, I met him when I was 13-years-old and he was 14-years-old he used to walk me home from school, always the ultimate gentleman," said Charlotte Yoculan, Paul's wife.
