The Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) officially opened the Hose Company 27 Social Club and Restaurant on Monday. 

The volunteer fire department has transformed a section of its station into a social hub and culinary destination. 

According to the fire department, the initiative is designed not only to serve great food, drink and small games of chance, but also to foster a greater sense of community involvement and support for firefighters who serve the community. 

The Hose Company already has 1,500 members. Membership are $35 and can be applied for online

The social club is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. 

All proceeds go directly to the Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department. 

To celebrate the social clubs grand opening, the Fairfield VFD will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony at 7 p.m. on Monday.
