Millcreek Township School District Votes Not to Eliminate Pre-School Program
Following Monday night's school board meeting, the Millcreek School District voted to not eliminate the pre-school.
The board voted 9 to 0 to not eliminate the pre-school. The decision comes after parents expressed concerns on quality of their child's education if the program were to be eliminated.
After the unanimous vote, the Millcreek School District will continue its pre-school program as is with no changes during the 23-24 school year.
However, starting next school year (24-25), there will be a significant price increase for tuition to offset rising costs of operation.
Additionally, the program will no longer offer part time options.
Currently, the MTSD administrative team is working on a proposal that will outline what the program will look like and what the cost will be. The school board will have to vote on the proposal.
The proposal will not be up for approval until sometime next month.
Erie News Now will continue to provide details as they become available.
