Lake Erie Cyclefest makes its return this week. This year's event will feature six rides over four days across Erie County. 

Cyclefest will take place July 25-28 and will benefit local nonprofit organizations. 

According to the Erie Sports Commission, hundreds of cyclists will roll through Erie County from Thursday evening throughout Sunday afternoon. 

The following six rides will make up Cyclefest: 

  • Downtown Slow Roll – Thursday, July 25, 6 p.m.
    • Registration: Free (pre-registration is required)
  • Grape Escape Ride – Friday, July 26, 50-mile at 8 a.m. and 25-mile at 9 a.m.
    • Registration: $35 Early Bird through June 30
  • Tour de West County – Saturday, July 27, 50-mile at 8 a.m., 25-mile at 9 a.m., and 12-mile at 10 a.m.
    • Registration: $35 Early Bird through June 30
  • Six Mile Creek Classic – Saturday, July 27, 2 p.m.
    • Registration: $40 until July 26
  • Presque Isle Sunrise Ride – Sunday, July 28, 6 a.m.
    • Registration: $30 Early Bird through June 30
  • See Spot Ride, Ride for Animal Rescue – Sunday, July 28 40-mile at 9 a.m., 25-mile at 9:30 a.m., and 10-mile at 9:45 a.m.
    • Registration: $35 Early Bird through June 30

Event organizers said three of the event's six rides offer distance options of 25-50 miles for experienced cyclists looking to stay active, while the Six Mile Creek Classic allows mountain bikers of all ages and skill levels to take to the woods at Six Mile Creek Park. 

“Lake Erie Cyclefest has become a staple on our annual event calendar and one that hundreds of cyclists of all levels look forward to every year,” said Erie Sports Commission Executive Director Mark Jeanneret. “We are excited to again work with six great nonprofits who execute the rides and use the funds raised to support their respective missions.”
