In Mayville, New York,  the new wooden castle event went off without a hitch on Friday night.

After years of the traditional ice sculptures, organizers were forced to think outside of the box this year to keep the tradition alive.

They did it with a wooden castle instead of ice, so they didn't have to worry about warmer temperatures melting the ice.

The annual Winter Festival will feature favorites like kettle corn and other food.

President and CEO of the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce said they are hoping for a big turnout this year.
