Kristen McGarvey, a senior at Cochranton Junior/Senior High School was the winner of this month's C.L.A.S.S. Act Scholarship award. 

Kristen McGarvey was surprised in class by our Eva Mastromatteo.

The 12th grader is president of the senior class, and a member of the National Honor Society.

Kristen has a weighted GPA of 4.8. But this award is not based just on academics, it's for well-rounded students.

Kristen's school counselor, who nominated her, says she is musically inclined, works as a daycare aid, and is a junior fair board member in the area, among other roles . 

Each monthly winner will also get the chance to win a $5,000 scholarship at the end of the year.
