The Kayak Anglers of Western PA are gearing up to host two of its seven regional events this weekend. 

The first event, BASS on Bay 9, will be held at Presque Isle Bay on Saturday, May 11. The launch will take place at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, and the lines will be in the water by 6 a.m. 

Event organizers said participants will navigate through the bay while fishing from human powered kayaks, single-person canoes or stand-up paddle boards. 

Additionally, the annual Shriner's Team Challenge will take place on Sunday, May 12 at Presque Isle Bay. The launch will take place at 5:30 a.m. and lines are in by 6 a.m. 

The event raises awareness for Shriner's Children Hospital of Erie.
