A local basketball coach and Jamestown native has been making a significant impact in the lives of local athletes.

What began in 2015 as a program to keep youth off the streets has become so much more.

Coach Maceo Wofford is now a mentor to over 100 students hailing from all over Warren and Chautauqua County.

"Word about my program spread like wildfire," stated Maceo Wofford, Founder of Dribble Kings. "All of a sudden I had like 15 kids from Warren, and from Warren it grew to Eisenhower and then to Sherman, NY, and now Westfield. I have players from all of the different areas around Jamestown now.”

Coach Wofford’s approach is all about maximizing players potential, both mentally and physically.

“Mace has really pushed me to become a better player," said Chase Melat, Oil City, PA Dribble King Member, "I wouldn’t be where I am without him.”

“He’s helped my mental toughness a lot," stated Jacob Ferranto, Sherman, NY Dribble King Member. " He's not just changed my body physically and made me better at basketball, but he’s helped my mind, which is a big part of the game.”

The efforts of Dribble Kings coaches and players have had a transformative effect on everyone's lives.

“Mace treats them like his own family, and that means a lot to me and my son,” stated Korey Melat, Dribble King Parent.

“As a coach it’s inspiring to work with young men like we have here today," stated Sixto Rosario, Dunkirk Varsity Head Coach. "It inspires me to go back home and share what I’ve learned and help our young men at home grow.”

“Just seeing a kid come from, you know thinking that they are working hard to coming one of my sessions and realizing oh my gosh, I have so much more to give myself, it's inspiring," stated Wofford. "Sometimes all kids need is an extra push.”

Coach Wofford’s program truly demonstrates the power of dedication and mentorship in shaping young lives.
