Community Blood Bank to Host Blood Drive at VA Hospital as Kayak Giveaway Continues

The Community Blood Bank will be hosting a blood drive at the VA Hospital in an effort to meet the demand of local hospitals. 

Throughout the month of June, individuals that donate at the Community Blood Bank will be automatically entered for a chance to win one of two sets of kayaks and paddles. 

According to the blood bank, blood shortages have far-reaching consequences, impacting medical treatments, childbirth and more. The Community Blood Bank is the exclusive provider of blood and blood products to 16 local hospitals and Stat MedEvacs in the NWPA and WNY regions. 

The blood bank will be hosting a blood drive at the VA Hospital on Wednesday, June 12 from 12-4 p.m. 

Those interested in donating blood can call 814-456-4206 to schedule an appointment. Appointments are not required but are encouraged to reduce wait time.
