Passenger Killed in Overnight Crash in Washington Township

A passenger was killed in an overnight crash in Washington Township, Erie County, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

It was reported on Kinter Hill Rd. west of Henneous Rd. around 12:10 a.m. Saturday.

A Ford truck was heading eastbound when the driver lost control of the vehicle, troopers said. The truck went off the roadway into a ditch, hit a tree on the passenger side and overturned one time, according to investigators.

The driver - a 26-year-old Wattsburg man - suffered minor injuries and was taken to UPMC Hamot for treatment, state police said.

The passenger - identified as Jacob Myers, 21, of North East - died at the scene from injuries he suffered in the crash, according to troopers. Investigators said he was not wearing a seat belt.
