Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership CEO James Grunke is leaving his post at the end of the month, the chamber announced in a statement Tuesday.

Grunke shared the news at the board's June meeting.

The departing CEO said he will always treasure the relationships and experiences he has had here, adding he has nothing but best wishes for the future of Erie.

Calling Grunke a key advocate for the business community, board chair Dr. Chris Clark said, "They are grateful for Grunke's contributions and wish him well in his future endeavors."

The chamber has initiated a search for James Grunke's replacement.

Jake Rouch, vice president for economic development, will serve as interim CEO effective July 1.
