A GoFundMe page has been created for the family of Melissa Arnold. Arnold was killed in a crash involving a pickup truck in Union Township on Monday, June 24.

Arnold, 42, of Corry, had parked her car near the Union City Reservoir and was walking across the road when she was hit by a passing Chevrolet truck and killed, according to troopers.

The GoFundMe page states:

"As many of you have heard we are all heart broken to announce Avery’s biological mom Melissa (Missy) Arnold was tragically taken from us in an accident on June 24th, 2024. We wanted to say thank you to everyone who has reached out to us saying their condolences. Many of you have asked what you can do for Avery as she has lost her mom.

If you would like to help support Avery and the family please make a donation towards the funeral costs in helping to lay Missy to rest. You can also make a direct donation to Bracken Funeral Home in Corry, PA.

Missy loved Avery with all her heart! She was a huge part of Avery’s cancer journey, and the love they both shared for animals is how Avery's nonprofit got started. Missy had been looking forward to watching her daughter graduate next year. No child should ever have to lose a parent at such a young age. Missy was a vibrant and beautiful soul. She had a heart of gold, was effortlessly funny, loved harder than anyone I know. She will be missed by many people including all her family and friends, and her cats. There will not be a funeral for her at this time, but we will have a celebration of life that will be announced at a later date. Thank you and please continue to keep Missy’s daughter, family and friends in your prayers."

As of 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 28, the GoFundMe page has raised $1,090 and has received 19 donations. The goal is to raise $10,000 to support Arnold's family.

According to the GoFundMe page, a funeral will not be held at this time, however a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
