Gabe Alvarez has led the Erie SeaWolves to three straight playoff appearances. He will now be able to guide Major League Baseball's next stars. 

The SeaWolves' skipper will serve as the third base coach for the National League in the MLB Futures Game on Saturday, July 13. All-Star weekend is set at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The first pitch will be at 4:10 p.m.

Alvarez will be on the coaching staff for Texas Ranger Michael Young who will manage the National League. 

Alvarez has led the SeaWolves for the last three years. Before working with the Tigers organization, he served as an assistant coach with USC from 2010-2021. 

Alvarez spent three years in the MLB, including two-plus seasons with the Tigers and half a year with San Diego.
