Over this year's Independence Day Weekend Enforcement period, Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) saw an increase in the number of fatal crashes investigated.
PSP investigated a total of 774 crashes over the 5 day enforcement period. This is approximately a 15 percent increase compared to the 668 accidents investigated in 2023.
Of those 774 crashes, 11 of them were fatal and over 244 people were injured.
Additionally, this year there were 64 DUI related crashes with 4 of them being fatal. There were 0 DUI-related fatal crashes in 2023.
