"Big Bus, No Big Deal": First Student Looks to Hire Bus Drivers
The Millcreek School District has adjusted start times for the middle and high school this fall. This effort is said to both to help with the ongoing bus driver shortage and save the district an estimated $200-thousand dollars annually on transportation costs.
To combat that shortage, First Student this looking to hire new drivers at their annual "big bus no big deal" event today.
The event is designed to teach people that although buses are large, anyone is capable of driving them. Even several members of the Erie News Now Sunrise team gave driving the bus a try. See the video above to watch Reporter Megan Solensky drive a bus live.
The event runs from 10am- 2pm today at Walnut Creek Middle School.
