Two young adults were killed and four suffered serious injuries following a crash in Waterford Township, Erie County, on Friday, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

It was reported on Route 97 west of Union Rd. around 9:42 p.m.

A Chevrolet car was traveling south when it attempted to pass multiple vehicles heading in the same direction, troopers said. It then hit a Buick SUV, which was traveling north, head-on, according to investigators.

The driver of the Chevrolet - identified as Brandon Borland, 23, of Waterford - and the front-seat passenger in the Buick - identified as Alycia Ingram, 19, of Union City - were killed in the crash, state police said.

The driver of the Buick and three other passengers in the vehicle were all taken to UPMC Hamot for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to troopers.
