Waldameer officials provided an update on Sunday after an incident on Saturday night which caused them to close one of their attractions.

The Flying Swings remained idle on Sunday, after an incident just hours earlier.

Steve Gorman, the President of Waldameer and Water World explained, "The ride will remain closed until the state investigation is complete and they release the ride to us and we, Waldameer, feels that it's safe to reopen the ride."

According to Gorman, the incident happened on Saturday night around 7:25 when multiple riders suffered non-life threatening injuries while on the attraction.

As Gorman said, "We are investigating the incidents to learn the cause. The State Department of Agriculture inspectors will have at least one person on site today to help with that investigation."

Gorman said minus the Flying Swings, all other rides were fully operational for guests on Sunday. He also said this event shouldn't deter people from coming to enjoy the amusement and water park.

"This is unique, this is unusual and we will make sure we will prevent it from happening again on this ride for sure", said Gorman.

Gorman said the safety of guests is a top priority at Waldameer and they do everything they can to prevent incidents like this from happening. "We don't open any attraction until it's safe, state inspectors inspect our rides routinely. We have nine to ten certified state inspectors on staff", said Gorman.

Saturday night's incident didn't stop people from enjoying a Sunday afternoon at Waldameer and Water World. Gorman said he has talked to two of the individuals who were injured and they only have bruises on their bodies.
