The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Forest Service is offering a free, interpretive night sky program in Allegheny National Forest.

It will be held Saturday, Aug. 31, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Beaver Meadows near Marienville.

The program is designed for all ages and will be led by a ranger who will help identify stars, constellations and night sky objects.

Organizers recommend bringing a chair or blanket and dressing appropriately for the weather including walking shoes. Participants should meet at the parking area by 8:20 p.m. at the latest.

Anyone with questions about the program can contact ranger Sarah Needs by emailing [email protected] or calling 814-927-5776.
