A report of a domestic dispute involving a gun prompted school dismissal changes in North East on Friday, according to police.
The suspect involved took off, and police were not able to locate the person before school dismissal, investigators said.
Police said there was reason to believe that the suspect was still armed and may appear at North East School District, which caused officers to notify school administrators to make sure there was enough security for students, faculty and staff, police said.
School officials started to dismiss students once there was adequate security on campus, according to investigators.
The suspect was eventually taken into custody, and additional school security measures were lifted, police said.
