Members of the community are celebrating the accomplishments of the local workforce.

Hundreds of union workers and members of organized labor gathered in downtown Erie for the annual Labor Day parade.

Those involved marched from 10th Street down to Perry Square, in solidarity. Union members we spoke with say its a chance to reflect on all of the achievements that made, to ensure a fair wage.

The first Labor Day celebration took place back in 1882, in New York City.
