4 Local School Districts Receive State Funding to Improve Infrastructure & Make Schools Safer

The Erie City and Harbor Creek School Districts were awarded two grants equaling $41,094 to help with the costs associated with improvement projects in each of the district's buildings. 

Additionally, the state's Public Schools Environmental Repairs Program secured more than $2.95 million has been secured for the two other school districts. The program was created in 2023. 

The Millcreek Township School District will receive $2,910,121.45 and Fairview School District will receive $47,191.16 in funding. 

The Public Schools Environmental Repairs Program allows schools to fund environmental improvement projects, including but not limited to the removal of abatement of lead in water pipes or lead in paint, asbestos and mold.
