National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Erie County will be hosting its first ever NAMIWalks event on Sunday, September 15 at Penn State Behrend.

The organization says the event is designed for all ages and abilities and will provide a fully accessible and inclusive experience for the entire community.

The walk will kick off at 9 a.m. at Penn State Behrend's Soccer and Lacrosse Stadium. The walk supports mental health awareness and will feature a Kids Zone, a photo booth, music from a live DJ and a variety of delicious options from local food trucks.

“We’re excited to bring NAMIWalks to Erie for the first time,” said Wendy Jacobs, Executive Director of NAMI of Erie County PA. “This event is all about coming together as a community to support mental health and to show that no one has to face their challenges alone.”

NAMI says participation in the walk is completely free. A complimentary breakfast will be provided to all attendees.
