Drivers who use the Bayfront Parkway in the City of Erie will soon see nighttime lane restrictions, according to Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).
Traffic will be limited to one lane between Sassafras St. Ext. and State St. during overnight hours from Sept. 15 to 21.
Flaggers will be directing traffic between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night. The restrictions are scheduled to start Sept. 15 at 6 p.m. and end Sept. 21 at 6 a.m., weather-permitting. The lane will be reopened each day from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The closure will allow workers to relocate utilities under the roadway as part of the Bayfront Parkway Central Corridor Improvement Project.
Additional traffic shifts remain in place from Water St. to Ore Dock Rd. as work continues.
