Drivers exceeding the speed limit on East 38th in Erie has been a big problem for years.
The Erie Police Department Motorcycle Unit has had enough, and members of the squad are cracking down on speeders.
The are running extra patrols in the city and will do so as long as the weather cooperates.
With three schools in the area, East 38th and Parade has become a focal point.
A crew of four officers on motorcycles and another officer in a cruiser, have been on duty several times since late May.
Erie Police since the initiative began almost four months ago, they have seen a dramatic improvement in driving habits.
